Special thanks to Grover and Sondra for all the help. We could not do the shoot with out them!

Irlene MandrellJust as I expected, last year’s IMCS was the most wonderful event we have ever presented. The best food, most prestigious sporting clay course I have ever seen, (designed by Michael Mohr), great rooms and a very organized staff and board. Maybe because of all this, beautiful weather, or something was in the air, everyone seemed to have an incredible time.

I thought “Kids Day” was great success. We do plan on bringing in a lot more kids for the 2010 shoot. Since our mission is helping children and introducing new people to the shooting sports.

I would like to thank all of our sponsors for making the shoot successful, and all of the celebrities who give of their time, and of course, add to the fun.

I had such a great time with Louise and Barbara shooting with us this year. Seeing them at the dinner, I couldn’t help think of Daddy and how proud he would be. Not only seeing his daughters having fun together, but also promoting shooting rights. That was really important to him! John Worrell came up with a great idea that not only made me, but my whole family, very happy, “The Irby Mandrell Memorial Shoot.”

Last year was great, but this year will be even greater! For Daddy.

Irby MandrellIrby Mandrell passed away in March of 2009. He was an extraordinary man. It has been said a man’s success is measured by what he left behind. There are not many people today that have not heard of the Mandrell Sisters, Irby’s girls. That in itself is a huge measure of success. I think you have to understand his character to understand who he truly was. Irby grew up in Arkansas in the 30’s, a very poor time. He entered the war effort at the age of 17 to risk his life for what he believed in. At 17 he found himself in the Navy aboard a ship in the South Pacific. That ship was destroyed and sank.. Just as most heroes approach life, you just do what you need to do. That was Irby’s style. Everyone else first. » read more
