“The Medicine Bag Tree”. original prismacolor wax pencil approximately 26″x40″. The Lakota Sioux Indians would hang “medicine bags” on tree limbs, which contained different items such as their own hair and nails, herbs and paotie, to ward off disease and the enemy in their prairie encampments. The tribes Medicine Man was the person in charge of distributing the Bags. Approximate value $2500 to $3500.
